Coronation street is one of the Uk's biggest soaps. If you are a fan of the show, a trip around the set would be a dream come true. The fictional town of Weatherfield is where the show is based, and some fans of the show think that Weatherfield in fact exists. Lets look at how you can visit the Coronation street set. Set.
For 50 years Coronation street has been on our screens, and we have seen many sublime faces come and go. The sublime cobbles in Manchester have also seen a lot of action, and a few years ago, it was potential to visit the Coronation street set in Manchester. The set is part of Granada Studios, and up until recently fans of the show were allowed on the cobbles, but sadly not anymore.
Downton Abbey
You could at one time walk down the sublime street, and see all the houses and shops that are so well-known to many viewers. Sadly due to many reasons, a walk down the sublime cobbles is not allowed anymore. There are also no plans in the future to see it being opened again.
Their could be many reasons for the closure, one of them being filming schedules. The extremely rated soap is now on Itv 4 times a week, and the closure could be down to the fact that they just need it for filming. The street is about to celebrate its 50th Anniversary, and for that their will be a extra live lesson in December 2010 to celebrate this wonderful achievement.
